Bowl-Rite Lanes

More about Union City

Bowl-Rite Lanes was first established in 1965 when it was constructed above the Shop Rite supermarket, thus the name Bowl-Rite. Four separate people have owned this facility. Rich Donohue, the current owner, has had the facility since March 5, 2004. Rich began bowling at this location when he was five years old in 1974.
When he bowled in youth leagues with his sisters Cheryl and Elizabeth, his mother Linda would take him bowling every Saturday morning. Rich claims that it wasn't only the excitement of bowling that kept him returning week after week and year after year. He continued coming back because of the connections he built along the road, and he hopes his clients feel the same way when they visit the center.

Leagues & Scoring

Many people don't participate in bowling leagues because they think they can't compete with other bowlers with superior averages. This is a total misunderstanding on your part. The majority of bowling center leagues are reserved for bowlers with disabilities.

Bowlers of varied skill levels are welcome to compete in handicap leagues, which provide a fair playing field for all participants. In most leagues, the handicap is often anywhere between ninety and one hundred percent.

If your four bowlers average one hundred apiece (total 400) and the bowlers on the opposing team average 150 each (total 600), your team will earn an extra 180 - 200 pins added to their score. This increases the chances of the novice bowlers prevailing.

The majority of bowling facility leagues are disabled leagues. Handicap leagues provide opportunities for bowlers of all ability levels to compete. This increases the chances of novice bowlers defeating more experienced bowlers. So don't be frightened to try something new. Join one of our handicap leagues right now!
